POMP Project Announces Two PostDoc Opportunities in Ocean Biogeochemical Modelling

The POMP project, in collaboration with the Alfred Wegener Institute, is thrilled to announce two openings for three-year PostDoc positions focused on ocean biogeochemical modelling. These roles are pivotal in advancing our understanding of oceanic processes related to climate change and marine biodiversity.

The first position, part of the EU’s POMP project, involves detecting changes in Southern Ocean biogeography. The selected candidate will contribute to the development of the REcoM biogeochemical model and interpret model simulations to assess shifts in marine ecosystems. For more details and to apply, please visit: Detecting Changes in Southern Ocean Biogeography.

The second opportunity is associated with the ERC project OceanPeak and focuses on the historical and future coastal ocean carbon sink. Responsibilities include developing and tuning a new seamless coastal setup and analysing the resulting model simulations. Interested candidates can find more information here: Coastal Ocean Carbon Sink Project.

Candidates for both positions are expected to hold a doctoral degree in a related field and possess a robust background in ocean science and modelling. Applications, including a motivation letter, CV, publication list, copies of certificates, and contact details for two references, should be submitted through the Alfred Wegener Institute’s online system by 31 May 2024.

These positions are based at the prestigious Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven in Germany. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to significant global projects with the potential to influence environmental policies and practices at an international level.

We look forward to welcoming new talents to our team! For application instructions and more information about the application process, please visit How to Apply.
